My Babies

I am sitting here this morning watching my son stressing out over a video game. He is so frustrated that he can not accomplish some task on a Wii game. My little lady is busily taking pictures with her pretend cell phone and loading the babies up for a walk. Nothing else matters to them right now except for that. It really makes me think when was the last time I cherished the moment and focused on nothing else but what is happening right now. Can you imagine how less stressed we would all be if we truly did that at least sometimes?

Letting Go

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

We hold some things very close to our heart. Many of those are happy feelings: love, joy, compassion... We also hold grief close to our heart. How do we know where we should be in our grief journey? I lost my brother Destin in 2007 in a tragic car accident. What I have experienced is a sea of emotions. I have had many nights where I have fallen on my face and cried out to God to take the card of grief from me. God has never left me in this journey. He promised me to never leave me or forsake me, and he held his promise true. We may depend on friends and family to lift us up in our deepest darkest hour, but no one can lift us up and comfort like the Lord Jesus Christ. He promises to be a great comforter, and when we hold his promise true he will comfort us beyond measure. 4 years into my grief journey I have let go of the hurt. There is still a scar, but my God reminds me he will never forsake me.

Ok, before talking about the wintry weather, I must vent. I am tired. I woke up before 5. Little lady wanted to play. I am still awake because I am waiting on the idiots I am in an online class with to finish their parts of the assignment. I have to have it posted before midnight arizona time. Blah. OK. Well, yay. We got about 7 inches of snow. Isaac and Destiny got to see snow for the first time. Destiny looked like she wasn't too impressed. Isaac had a blast making snowballs and a snowman with a cheeto nose. Tons of fun, and I had the day off today. CCSD has given the kids off tomorrow, and depending on how the roads are I may or may not go to work tomorrow at 10. Well, while it is 12:30 here. I still have a whole hour and half until midnight Arizona time. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh. Maybe I will start writing more on here. So slack. I need more pics up.

REborn babies

OK. Weird. I am watching 20/20. They have these baby dolls that are called reborns. They are very lifelike, and they have these women that set up nurseries for the baby dolls. Very creepy to me. Just thought I would share. They had one woman that goes out in public with them and wants people to think that it is really her baby. As we all love to say in the South, well bless her heart.

Merry Christmas People

Well, another Christmas without Destin. This year was much better than last year. I still hurt but this holiday was more tolerable. No alcohol has been involved so I guess that is good. I really enjoyed today. We didn't go anywhere, just hung out watching the kids playing, assembling toys, and throwing away paper and boxes. I made a beer chicken tonight. Basically what you do is poor out half a beer, or drink half a beer and sit the chickens butt over the beer. not sure how it works, but it makes the chicken really tender. very delicious. OK, well time to raid the kitchen. I want something salty, pretty much something I don't have in the house, of course.

wasting, wasting time away

Ok. I have to vent. I am so very tired of certain people wasting their lives on stupid stuff. Watching people that don't understand how precious the gift of a family and children. I could scream. OK, maybe if I go take a shower and scream it will be all out. There is my bit.

EVERYONE HAS A STORY

ok. I am not sure how many of you watch the Today show, and I know this post is going to come off as mean spirited. The Today show has been doing a segment called Everyone has a story in which they honor a special person with a specially written song written by Kathy Lee Gifford and sung by usually a Broadway singer or someone. Great stories that are very hearttouching are shared, but then they sing a CHEESY song to that person. It is sang in that cabaret style very cheesy. Why can't they give the person a vacation or money? Please Today show stop letting Kathy Lee write songs .
